Thinking of a career in real estate?
We are always looking for the right people to help us grow our business, either part or full time. You must be a self-starter, a team player, a call-it-like-it-is kind of person, with a deep understanding of country and farm life. A successful agent is very people-oriented and willing to make sacrifices in his or her personal schedule to accommodate customers. To be located in our general area will make it easiest for you, but is not required. The more folks you know in the area you service, the greater your chances of success will be. Networking is very critical to long-term success. Since pay is entirely commission-based, you may need to have additional income until things get rolling for you. Real estate is like cooking with cast iron cookware. It takes a while to heat it up, but it keeps cooking for a while after the heat is off.
In return, you’ll work with some great folks on both sides of the transactions, you can set your own schedule, and though you won’t have an employer watching over your shoulder, you will have the support you need. I am here for you. Potentially high income; it will be entirely what you make of it. Remember: no one gets rich at any job without work. Give us a call or an email to discuss things. We work a bit differently than most other companies; see how this can work to your advantage.
There are no uniforms; dress is clean but casual. A telephone that's turned on, a computer and a reliable vehicle are necessary. Almost as important are a printer, a scanner or some way to make copies. The “stuff” is simple. You have to know how to knock on doors and how to present yourself to others. We pay more than some other companies do for listings. If you can get salable listings, we’ll find customers for you.
Oh yes, you will need a real estate license before you can start. Courses are taught regularly in many cities as well as on-line. Some of them are evenings; many are weekends, and others meet during the day.
EXPERIENCED? HAVE A BROKER’S LICENSE? With an eye toward eventual retirement, I have thought of looking for a junior partner, someone I can work into ownership. If you are that person, let’s talk.
